TacServe will only let me use one modem at a time, even though two (or more) are installed. How do I fix this?

The first thing to do is to eliminate TacServe from the equation and ensure that both modems on the TacServe PC can be opened at the same time.

On the TacServe PC, directly open one of these modems using Windows HyperTerminal and make an outbound call.

While this call is in progress, open another instance of HyperTerminal and try to use the other modem.

If the second instance of HyperTerminal is unable to open the modem, try the following steps:

1.  Move the modems to different slots and set them to use different IRQ settings.

2.  Set the modems to be on different COM ports.

3.  If that doesn't help, contact the manufacturer of these modems to see if they are aware of this issue and have any suggestions for using both modems at the same time in a single PC.
