Version 3.x DialOut/EZ clients are able to receive licenses from a version 4.x License Manager. This makes the task of upgrading your Site Edition from version 3.x to 4.x simple and non-disruptive.1. Before you begin
Make sure that you have administrator rights on the License
Manager machine and that you are working directly on the machine (don't
use a Terminal Services or Remote Desktop session).
2. Upgrade the License Manager:
Uninstall the version 3.x License Manager and then install the
latest 4.x version of the License Manager on the same machine. Launch
the License Manager Management Console, and then enter the licensing
information by right clicking the DialOut/EZ License Manager icon and
choosing licensing. This process should take no more than 5 minutes
and afterwards all the 3.x clients will be able to access the new
License Manager machine in the same way as they did before.
3. Upgrade the DialOut/EZ clients
Now the version 3.x DialOut/EZ clients can be upgraded at your
leisure. The 4.x code can be installed directly on top of the 3.x
code. The 4.x installer will detect the 3.x code, uninstall it, but
leave all your settings in place. After the installer finishes, the
4.x client will have the same redirected COM ports and settings as the
3.x client did.
