Do you have a Quick Start Guide for setting up DialOut/EZ?

The following steps will allow you to quickly get DialOut/EZ running.  Consult the DialOut/EZ User Guide if you get stuck on any of the steps below for more detailed installation and configuration information.

0.      Make sure that your modem server is configured to share out its modems to a TCP port and that working outbound lines are connected to the modems.

1.      Running the DialOut/EZ setup progam:

- Log onto the machine as an administrator

- Run the DialOut/EZ setup program, select all the defaults

- Leave the license key blank for a free 30-day evaluation or enter your permanent license key.

2.      After the installation completes, the Select Ports window will appear.

Select one or more virtual COM ports that you wish to create on your PC, then click OK.  Windows 9x users will have to reboot the PC after this step.

3.      The Add Modem dialog will appear.  Follow the instructions in this window for creating a modem device that matches the modems in your modem server.

4.      In the DialOut/EZ Control Panel, enter the IP address of the modem server and the TCP port number that it shares out its modems on.

5.      If your modem server requires authentication:

- Check the Use Credentials box in the DialOut/EZ Control Panel and select "Use Credentials Below" in the drop-down list.

- Enter the username and password to access the modems.

6.      Click the Configuration Wizard button and then click Start.

- When the Configuration Wizard completes successfully, click the Use Settings button.

- The Connection Protocol and Application Compatibility settings in DialOut/EZ will now be correct.

7.      In your dialout application's settings:

- Change the modem device that it dials to the one that you created in step 3.

- If you have an older dialout application that only uses COM ports, change it to use the virtual COM port that you created in step 2.

8.      Now you should be able to dialout with your application as you always have.
