March 31, 2005 — Responding to integrators and application developers who wish to easily embed COM port redirector technology in serial applications, Tactical Software has developed an ActiveX control that can fully configure the Serial/IP Redirector.
Combined with the Serial/IP virtual COM ports and support for unattended/silent installation, the new ActiveX control means that the Serial/IP Redirector now can be completely integrated as a communications software component that provides access to networked serial servers. All Serial/IP graphical user interfaces remain available and can be used in parallel with the ActiveX control.
This new feature is now available as a special release to selected integrators and OEMs, and will be generally available with the release of Serial/IP Redirector 4.4, slated for July 2005.
