November 8, 2005 — Tactical Software today began shipping version 4.5 of its product line of COM port redirectors and COM port server software.
In version 4.5, Tactical has merged the features of the DialOut/IP Redirector into the DialOut/EZ Redirector, which now serves as a universal redirector solution for modem servers that support raw or Telnet TCP/IP protocols, with or without the COM Port Control extensions.
This release also adds the Restore Failed Connection feature to the DialOut/EZ Redirector, allowing it to be used for inbound connections and recover from network interruptions between it and the modem server. Users of the DialOut/IP Redirector can update their software (including License Manager) to DialOut/EZ at no charge by contacting to receive DialOut/EZ license keys. More details about upgrading are available in a Support FAQ article.
