Seat (per-computer) Licenses

Available for Serial/IP, DialOut/EZ, COM/IP, and TTYredirector.

Seat licenses support a maximum number of active ports on a single computer. A port becomes "active" when it is opened by an application on that computer.

Seat licenses allow you to tailor your purchase to the specific needs of applications on a single computer.

Site and Server Licenses

Available for: DialOut/EZ Site Edition and TacServe COM Port Server.

These licenses support a maximum number of active ports for all users at a site. A port becomes "active" when it is opened by an application on any user computer.

A site or server license lets a maximum number of active ports be shared among all users at a site. Redirectors can be installed on any number of user computers at the site. For DialOut/EZ Site Edition, the license key is used by the included Tactical Software License Manager, which can run on any Windows-based computer on the same network as users. For the TacServe COM Port Server software, the license key is used only by the server software. For both site/server products, license keys are not required for installation of redirectors on user computers.
