Seat Licenses: Serial/IP, DialOut/EZ, COM/IP
- A seat license enables a maximum number of active virtual COM ports on a single computer.
- A port becomes "active" when it is opened by any application on that computer.
- The license does not restrict the number of virtual COM ports that can be created.
Site Licenses: DialOut/EZ Site Edition, TacServe COM Port Server
- A site license enables a maximum number of active virtual COM ports for all users at a site.
- A port becomes "active" when it is opened by any application on any user computer.
- The license does not restrict the number of virtual COM ports that can be created.
- DialOut/EZ Site Edition:
Active ports can be used to access any modem server and the maximum is enforced by the DialOut/EZ License Manager.
- TacServe COM Port Server:
Active ports can be used to access the shared ports provided by every copy of the TacServe software at the site.
